A Good Day In the garage with Bugsy IV.
1) Replaced Hub Bolts after I realized I stretched them going to 35 lbs.
2) Meant removing the hub and the Big Nut but I feel safer now
3) Torqued to 25 ft lbs
4) reinstalled Hub torqued big Nut to maybe 40 Lbs. Will wait to add major torque tomorrow
5) Dropped Rear End down onto Floor Jack, it balances perfectly.
6) Got everything aligned straight and raised rear end to correct height
7) Some futzing getting it straight but once aligned was able to get bottom axle bolts in
Tip use a screwdriver stuck through the end of the spring to initially position one side and then go and align the other
8)Get the other side aligned and drive home the bottom axle bolt
9) Repeat on the other side
10) A Big C Clamp attached to the top of the axle will give you a point to anchor a Come Along or Ratchet Strap to rotate the axle forward
11) I attached one end of the Ratchet Strap to the front Steering Arm and the other to the big C Clamp clamped around the back side of the axle
12) several cranks of the ratchet strap and axle rotated and allowed my to insert the top axle bolt, remember to make sure the radius arm is free, I used a piece of wire to hold it up on both side so it did not get stuck when I rotated the axle
13) Spacer goes on outside of radius arm so it is parallel to the leaf spring
14) Reposition Ratchet Strap and C Clamp on other side. One Crank got everything aligned
15 ) Attached Lever Arm Shock Arms
15) Raise Jack and connect Rebound Straps
16) Loosely tighten all nut but do not crank down tight. Wait until wheels are on and weight of car is back on suspension before you crank things down. A 4 x 4 block under each tire will help to add some clearance so you can get under the car.
17) Now that Rear End is attached Torque Big Nut to 140 Lbs. After doing so check torque on Hub Nuts. They will be loose.

Yet to do.
1) Build brakes each side, Wheel Cylinders and new Brake Lines are already installed
2) Install E Brake Rods
3) Install axles and screw down lock screw.
4) Install Emergency Brake Cable
5) Paint Rear Drums
6) Install Drums
7) Adjust rear brakes
8) Bleed all Brakes
9) Attach Drive Shaft
10) Install Gas Tank and wire for sending unit
11) Add Fluids, Rear End, Gasoline
12) Charger on Battery
13) Install Helicoils for Windshield
14) Install Windshield
15) Turn the Key and Check Oil Pressure before Firing up
16) Prime Oil Pump if needed
17) Have Bugsy make Vroom, Vroom noises
18) Install new Wheels and Tires, 22 lbs F 24 lbs Rear
19) Time for summer fun

Top Down and Curvy Roads.

PS A trip to the Muffler Shop is needed to install and Fit Harley Muffler as I needed to cut the exhaust pipe right in front of the rear axle. , for right now Open Pipes.

PSPS - Pardon my Project Plan, Task Steps needed to get Bugsy Driving again, Helps me to visualize what still needs to be done. If Rear Brakes go well I am very close.

Even at 90 Degrees in the Shade it was a very fun day seeing things go according to plan with Bugsy. And I did it all myself without a spotter jockeying the rear end around. Just careful planning and leverage. Now Hopefully things will not leak.
