Progress with Bugsy II finally. Engine and tranny are out and I can finally start getting things cleaned up and ready to go on the rotisserie so undercarriage can be painted. 15 months to get it from getting into the garage to getting the engine out. But this has been the thing that has been holding back progress. Finally a step forward. Yeah. IMG_0831[1].jpg

Jim,
I know it makes you feel good to have that engine out! I've got to finish welding so I can get mine dipped, but it's so hot!

Is that particular motor eventually going back in, or do you have another motor to install?

That is a 948 that was running when removed from Bugsy II in 1983 along with a rebuilt Smoothcase with zero hours on the gear box. Both are being replaced with a '69 hi comp 1275 along with a 5 speed. The 948 and Smoothcase are available for sale. Going to take a lot of hot soapy water and degreaser to clean up the engibe compartment as well as cockpit in order to get it ready for paint.

Congratulations, getting over those roadblocks feels SOOOOOOO good.

Lots of degreasing and cleanup before paint. And some minor welding work on rear of floorpan to seal up a few spots around reinforcing bracket. Should be fairly minor to fix and finish.

At least having the car on the rotisserie will make those tasks easier.
