Bugeye Steering Wheel Refinishing?

Any suggestions on what's worked for you? I see that Eastwood has a kit for this, but I was thinking JB Weld for the cracks and Krylon Fusion paint for plastic would work as well. I hate having to reinvent the wheel here, so any tips would be appreciated.

That seems to work Mike. Not sure how long it will last but.

Think I would use Gushon (sp) Epoxy though with micro baloons if needed, available at west marine.

I would be leery of the Fusion paint holding up to your hands. I sprayed a remote control a few years ago with Fusion and it was a disaster. The paint turned to goo in just a few months.

Maybe an opaque lacquer?

A buddy of mine who is a bodyman epoxied my cracks and repainted mine with the same paint that is used with the rubber or plastic bumpers. Been years and it still looks great.

I'm not familiar with Gushon, but also available at West Marine is Awl-Grip two-part epoxy paint with thinners for either spray-on or brush-on applications. This paint is bullet-proof, once cured I know of no solvents that will harm it!!
