Bugeye steering rack lubrication help

Hello,
I have the steering rack out of my Bugeye at the moment. I am replacing the rack boots and tie rod ends. I noticed that the area under the rack boots was loaded with grease. Is this area supposed to be greased? If not, I can remove the grease I see, but how do I flush out the rest that I can't get to? Also, there is one oil nipple on the passenger side of the rack. I know I am supposed to fill this with some sort of gear oil, but what kind, and how do I know how much oil to put in? Thanks for your help in advance.

90 wt will work fine, one US pt. when you do a rebuild. No grease.
 
Thanks for the posts, Doug and Jack. So, I cleaned all of the grease that I could get to. How do I get rid of the grease inside that I can't get to? Do I just keep pumping oil in until I force the grease out (if that is possible)? Am I just making too big of a deal with this issue?

I think you are making too big a deal - grease will slowly dissolve in the oil
