Bugeye seat back question please

I am at the tailing end tasks for my BE project restore. I am in the process of restoring the seat back to a much better condition, I hope. The bottom edge of the PO(s) seat back was bent up with seat tacks used to hold the vinyl. Is the bottom edge supposed to be turned up back onto itself, or should it be at a perpendicular corner? I'm thinking that it should be hammered flat, that way the U clips have something to hold onto.
Thanks in advance for you help.

Here is a close up. Perpendicular edge or hammered flat?
Thanks,

Hi Scott,
I restored my seats a number of years ago, but I do not remember what the sheet metal did in that area. I have a second set of seats I can look at when I get home tonight if no one else answers you questions.

Thanks, I would appreciate that.
BTW, how is the wiring going and that persnicity heater wiring?

Actually seat back makes a 90 degree turn at the bottom toward the front of the car. Lip looks about 1/4 inch or so.

Scott, I am so sorry I didn't get the picture out yesterday. It was a bad day and I went straight to bed when I got home. Here is a picture showing you the angle the metal is set at on one of my old seats. Let me know if you need more pictures.

As far as the wiring, I a have everything hooked up that I can at this point. I think I have everything figured out at this point. It will be three weeks before I can do any more work.

Kevin
