Bugeye rally spec rear springs?

Bought rally spec rear springs(original not available) for our bugeye from moss. Sits very high! Heard that some leaves could be removed to lower and soften the ride. Anyone know which leaves and how many? Thank you

It is a big experiment, but I chose to remove two (I do not remember which ones). I then used some wedges under the springs to get the ride height where I wanted it (and shaved the bump stops). I still need to do more work to decide if I'm satisfied with the setup.

I hear the wedge is pretty common. I left mine--kinda like the way it sits. She gets a bit loose in tight turns though....

If the rear is too high, compared to the front, then the car may dart randomly due to lose of caster.

Thank you. I think I know what you mean by wedges, but could you describe them and where you placed them/ size (amount of lowering?). Thank you for the input.

Update: after reading all the collective info I have decided that the wedges are the best choice for our bugeye. I found that Pep Boys can special order Trail Master 2" wide 2 degree wedges (not sure how long though- probably 5"), SKU #ULP 8004 $15.99. From the thread on Spritesspot I gather that they should lower the rally spec springs by 1". Probably should have paid more attention in College math 101 and stop hitting on the girls. Also sneeking into sculpture class in bead blast parts for my 74' MGB. After I measure the "real life" height before and after I will post and reveal the end result. Thanks all.

My memory is fuzzy, but you may need to remove at least one leaf to have enough clearance for the wedge.
