Bugeye Interior Kick Panel Attachments?

I have made new kick panels for my Bugeye and now I wonder how the forward end is attached. I can see that the rear screws go into the dead area behind the "A" pillar. I don't recall seeing any screws visible on the forward/outside of the panel when the bonnet is raised. On the driver side it looks like the dip switch mount might hold the panel in but how are they supposed to be attached?

Also, I haven't covered them yet; the old set I have is from a 70 Midget that I am using for templates. These had a thin layer of foam between the panel and the vinyl. Did the Bugeye also have this foam or was the vinyl glued directly to the hardboard?

Thanks,

Mark

I just took them out of a customers car. PM me your E-Mail and I can E-mail you the pictures of the kick panels both in the car and on the ground.

With darn few screws. Think none on the out side kick pannel, the door strap is all that there is as I remember.

If you want to make a neat hole in the vinyl for the screw, use the tip of a soldering pencil to melt a nice hole and then drill the hole through the wood(pressboard)and then the metal before using a screw. I made all new panels for my midget when I get to that stage. Instead of foam I used some stuff from my work that they make that actually goes in baby diapers. It would not be cost effective to send you any, but its made from plastic and will never mildew or anything. You should be able to find something that would work at a fabric shop. Even if he BE didn't have padding, it sure would not hurt when you smack a knee against it.
