Bugeye Heater Cable & Switch

I noticed this item is NLA from most vendors. Does anyone know where to get a new one? Also, I bought a dash on flea bay and it has an original switch. Unfortuantely the cable has been cut. Has anyone succesfully rehabed an original switch? I've had some success repairing old lucas switches, but have never dug into one like this.

John, this switch has been NLA from everybody for about ten years. If you do find one on eBay, it goes for upwards of 75 bucks.
Several of us have refurbished the old ones. Inner cable replacement is pretty straightforward using something along the lines of lawnmower throttle cable. The outer sheath is a bit more challenging, but not really that big of a deal.
The switch portion is very simple. Just pry the ears up and disassemble, clean and reassemble.

Thanks Jeff,

I'll definitely give it a go. I figure I don't have anything to lose! I have used lawn mower cable for my MGB heaterbox cables. Worse case, at least I have something to attach a heater knob to!

Yes. put a new inter and outer cable on mine, works great.
