Bugeye heater cable almost repaired, but need help

I was able to repair my heater blower switch/cable for my Bugeye. It was time consuming. It was rusted in place to start with. After I broke that free, I had to take the switch portion apart and clean the corrosion, and then use a cable and sheath from a broken TR6 cable to finish my repair. No one would ever know I worked on it. I only have one problem left. I can not figure out how the spring, pin, and knob go together. Does someone have a pic of this area? Am I missing a piece or is there something broken? I normally take lots of pics before I repair something, but for some reason I forgot to take a picture of this area. I have included a pic below, and any help would greatly be appreciated.

I found my one and only spare heater switch/cable at the Saturday gathering- here is a picture of it, your clip is broken

Do you have any idea where I can get one of those clips? I might just get a spring to fit over the pin. By the way, where on Earth did you find a NOS heater cable switch? I can't even find broken switches to buy.

Came with a "barn find" '65 Midget that I found last summer in Federal Way.
I think that the clip is the same one as on some other pull cables, I'll look tomorrow.
