Bugeye Generator rear bush issue

As some may recall, last week my BE developed a sudden loud screech which turned out to be coming from my tach drive generator (dynamo). Looks like the problem is the rear bush.
A replacement is readily available from the usual suspects, an oilite bushing, UTB110.
According to Moss, this bushing measures:

0.872” long, 0.714” OD and 0.595” ID

However, my armature shaft only measures 0.547", so the bushing ID of 0.595" is too big.

It is a C40 Lucas dynamo, number 22721A, which appears to have come of an MG TD.

Someone appears to have attempted to place some sort of sleeve to enlarge the diameter of the armature shaft so that it fits the bushing. This sleeve is what gave out.

I can't find any listing for a bushing for this generator, the MG TD bushing on Moss is the same as the Bugeye bushing - UTB110.

Any thoughts on how to fix?

The bushing installed now in the end plate appears to be the UTB110. It's ID and OD measure very close to the specs for that bushing (.595" ID, .714"OD)

Fred,
Im away until Saturday, but may have an extra generator in my shop. If I do you will be more than welcome to it.
Rut

Thanks Rut, Merry Christmas!

A good bearing house may be able to supply you with the right bearing for you application. Also, if you can't hit it right on, a little work with a lathe could make one up. Typical of the usual suspects to not stock the right part.

Kurt.

Fred,
I thought I had several Bugeye generators, but it turned out to be only 1 tach drive for my Bugeye and 5 starters and 2 TR4a generators.
Sorry for the confusion, Rut

No Problem, Rut. I've got a bushing on order from a bearing house that may do the trick. If not, I think Ray has one.

I may have one as well -- I'll try and dig through the barn later this week when I get a moment.
