Bugeye gas pedal

I need some help in regard to the gas pedal on my bugeye. When I restored the car I replaced the gas pedal. I purchased a new pedal from Moss. When installed the top of the pedal sits at an angle toward the rear of the car instead of toward the front of the car. This makes it very uncomfortable to drive as my foot is at an awkward angle. I cannot find the old pedal so I don't know what it looked liked. The new pedal mounts to the floor in the correct spot, I think the linkage rod coming off of the back of the pedal is to long which is pushing the top of the pedal to far forward. Does any one have an orginal pedal they would like to sell or does anyone know how long the connecting rod coming off of the back of the pedal should be?

Thanks.

If your rod is the same as my Mk2 Sprite it is 7" long from the gas petal then 10 1/2" across and the cable attaches to a 4 1/2" last section. I agree that you probably mounted your petal in a reversed position.

There is a screw over by where the throttle cable attaches to the peddle that is there to adjust the location of the peddle at idle. Run that screw down some (and then readjust your idle setting at the carbs) and see if that helps.

If you're still having trouble this weekend I could come over and take a look at it. I'mjust up the road in Marysville
