Bugeye electrical layout question

After 5 years (and an additional garage) I'm finally
back on my 'low budget Bugeye' project. The first
task is the electrical stuff. Doing this from scratch
using a wiring harness from a Mk II Midget.

My question is where is the fuse block and regulator
located? On the MkII Midget they are located on the
firewall just to the left of the right bonnet hinge,
but there are no holes in that area that match these
components on the Bugeye.

No, I didn't forget where they went....I started with a
completely bare body. TIA

p.s.-still looking for the nut that holds the heater
control to the dash if anyone has one in their spare
parts pile

Surely if you're starting with a mk11 Midget, you'll need to put them in a simular position to the Midget or the wires to & from won't reach.
I re-wired my frogeye from scratch as I had a few modern additions like some relays & more than 2 fuses, Alternator & electronic ignition.

Thanks for the pics and info guys! I was able to find the
holes for the regulator and fuse block right away once
I had a clue where to look. This car has a few extra
holes in the firewall, so it was not obvious.

After taking what remained of the cloth covering from
the MKII harness and cleaning it, it looks great.
I also have a terrible semi-burned up harness I'll use
to extend the wires to the regulator and fuse block.
This won't be a dead nuts stock Bugeye (already did the
wire wheel/front disc brake conversion), but extending
the wires is not a big deal.

Moss sells what looks like electrical tape, but without the adhesive for wrapping your harness. You can use a spot of PVC pipe glue to fasten the loose end to the harness.

I am running a MKII harness in a Bugeye. I had to put the regulator and fuse box where the wires ended. On the firewall like a MKII.
For wire harness wrapping, I use hockey stick tape, it looks good and holds up.
Available at any sporting goods shop.
