Ray, I considered that setup as well. My car is a "RestMod" of sorts, but I'm interested in keeping the engine bay as uncluttered as possible. Ultimately, I decided that the original MC design was as clean and uncluttered as I was going to get.

I agree on "clean and uncluttered" and that is certainly a goal for me.

Here's an example of Hap's installation of the pedal box and MCs I'm planning to use...looks good to me!

I agree, they look nice, but the size is what put me off. I want my Sprite to look more "elemental". I'm still thinking I may use the Tilton setup in my midget if I put a Toyota 4AGE in it. ...but that is a long way off.

I know where you're coming from, Trevor, but I think in this case, "size matters". Having three independent MCs, you can vary the size of EACH to match the need...like me opting for a 7/8" for the rear (drum) brakes. Also, having the bias bar for front/rear braking is a plus. The reservoirs are very adaptable...in the MC kit you get both the large and small reservoirs and can attach either directly to the MC or mount it remotely...handy.

Another similar set up is Wilwood; the Bugeye vintage racer I sold this summer had that setup. It was a bit more compact, incorporating a hanging pedal box with MCs in the footwell. Here's a photo:

"Looks" should be secondary to "performance" in a situation like this!!
 
When I originally read this thread, I missed some of the content. I really don't know if this is true, but many yrs ago(25 to 30) I knew someone with a BE which had what he claimed was an original set of wires. A $600 option in its day. They had a hub just like a Triumph wire wheel to a standard hub. Anybody, can you tell us if this a fact?
 
Probably a dealer installed option. I've got at least one set around here, and the splined adapters bolt on the existing steel wheel setup.
But, the factory did offer wires under the Special Tuning equipment supplied by Healey Speed Equipment.
Terry Horlers' book has a picture of one of the originally equipped cars. They also mandated disc brakes with the package.
