Bugeye Dash Covering?

Did the bugeye dash have any kind of foam under the vinyl? I don't see how the radio perferatoins didn't show through other wise. If it had foam what's a good size to use?

No foam or anything just vinyl.

Just vinyl but the radio perferations did eventually show thru with age. Welding or filling the perfs before covering sure doesn't hurt.

Thanks! I had a few extra holes filled in my dash so hopefully they won't bleed through without any padding.

I was thinking of using a layer of under vinyl or something like ABS sheet stock or formica. That way I could just cut our what I want to use.
