Bugeye Bonnet Question

I'm about to start digging into my Bugeye, but as you all know it's a pain to work under the bonnet for any length of time and I want to take it off. Is there a good way to unbolt it with out it "eating" me?! lol! Also, I would imagine it's pretty heavy. Can one guy lift it himself? Also, how do you guys store for any length it when it's off? I was thinking maybe I could hang it on the wall.

Geez, I feel like a newbie! lolol!

Well, John, the easiest way to do it is to pull the two bolts that run crosswise through the back of the hinges, (under the dash), but, those have been known to be a real pain to get out.
Alternatively, remove the 8 bolts from the bonnet ends of the hinges, after marking the hinge positions on the bonnet. You can use a pencil or a Sharpie for this. This is going to require at least two people. Don't forget the bonnet prop.
One man can lift it off, although it's awkward. I usually just stand mine on end, using an old blanket or towel under the back to protect it.

Yes, John, they are. There's a captive nut on the other end.
Probably a good place for liberal amounts of PB Blaster, and perhaps some heat.
Most of them have probably never been removed in their lifetime.

I reached under the dash and felt the assembly with my hand. I'll shoot some PB in there and try my luck.
