Bugeye body weight

Hello,

I am finally getting close to moving my Bugeye for the final paint job. Every thing was removed during this long process except for the rear end. The front sits on a small dolly I made. Can anyone tell me the approximate weight of a gutted Bugeye? I think I am allowed to tow up to 1,200 pounds on my trailer, and I do not want to take any chances.
Thanks for your help.

Kevin

The gutted Bugeye tub, with a diff installed, is probably in the neighborhood of 600 pounds. Three of us picked one of mine off the trailer with no strain at all.
(Playing at work I see, Tim. Oops, me too! :G)

Yep Jeff, ya got me! Sometimes I have to do something at work, besides work! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banana.gif

I have, with back to the car, squatted and lifted one side of the rear end of a roadworthy Midget Mk III off the ground, and high enough to slide the rear of the car sideways. Did that only last summer as demo to the boys who did not believe me. Of course they then had to try it too. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/bow.gif

I ought to get some use out of that set of scales in the garage. And with the Green Bean ('58 Bugeye stripped of everything but the front and rear suspensions - future race car?)... Aw but too many other projects weighing on me... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/nopity.gif
