Ha! So I took the Bugeye to work on it's maiden voyage since replacing the clutch and the other work I have done to it. I have driven up and down the block many times and even up town a few times as well, but this would be the first major drive in 4 months or so (~50 miles round trip).

I live just north of Denver in the 'burbs and drive into the city for work. Anyway, I was just cruising along minding my own business, when I hear a kid in a Civic trying to keep up with me at the light (you know the drill....big exhaust tip & stickers everywhere). I laugh at this and at the next light I accelerate like I normally do and can hear him winding his Honda up so I just let her rip.......he never got within a car length of me (and believe me, he was trying!). Oh the embarassment of losing to a 48 year old car! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

My first official "kill". /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

All told, I put over 200 miles on the Bugeye today and not one issue popped up, other than a slightly rough idle. I had forgotten how much fun this thing is to drive. I only wish there were more warm days ahead of us, but I'll take what I can get for now.

Just thought I'd share. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

You need to get some "kill noseart" for your front fenders /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

I dunno how I feel about that. A Datsun out ran a Honda?

Ahh yes, and it is still fun after 55 years or so of driveing.

However, with a stock engine I prefer to suck em into corners.

Isn't that fun?
Life's a lot more fun in a LBC /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

I feel for you... Having moved from Alaska, where you have less than half the year drivable in a spridget, to California I am now spoiled with 365 warm days a year... Cant get many more than that... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif

Ha! But *he* didn't know that my car was a Datsun in disguise. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
