BUG EYE WHAT CAUSES A VOLTAGE REGULATOR TO STICK ON WHEN U TURN KEY OFF

Hi Little One - I'm moving this to the Spridgets forum (That's where we discuss Sprites and Midgets). You posted in the "Forum Help" section which is reserved for asking questions about navigating this site. Also - just a minor point - but you might want to turn off CAPS LOCK as that's normally associated with shouting in online communications.

Lastly, please consider making an introductory post in our "New Members Introductions" forum to tell us a bit about yourself.

Cheers,
Basil

Generator? Brushes worn down to the nubs, a direct contact between copper wire in the brush and the commutator would cause grief to the regulator. The charge light will glow as well.

Sixty year old Lucas electrics? Also look for an open ground or short circuit. Was anything done recently prior to the issue developing? If someone not familiar with these little buggers isn't aware that they are positive ground vehicles perhaps a circuit was inadvertently reversed. Voltage regulator testing is reasonably simple with a decent volt - ohm meter and a good shop manual.
