BT7 question

I have a 62 BT7. It came without overdrive. Is there a way I can find out how many BT7 Tri-Carbs were delivered without overdrive? Also, how can I find out or where can I look to identify what the rear end gear ratio is? According to the BHT certificate I have, the rear axle number is 2312, if that's any help.

The gear ratio is stamped on the housing as shown in the picture. Have fun

Hello ArtQ,

the best person to ask about anything to do with tri-carbs is Bill Bolton at
TRICARB@aol.com

The axle number of 2382 may not do you any good but Duane Rhynard is right and with a nice picture to boot.

I'm not sure when the changeover was but you will either find the same numbers as Duane or you will find the numbers 11/39 which works out to 3.545:1. 11/43 is a 3.909:1 ratio.

Best Regards,

bundyrum.
