BT7 Grille surround

Bill you are asking in the wrong place - perhaps a forum moderator can help move the question, or, repost in the austin healey section - this is really for technical help with the actual forum. good luck!

Bill, as JP said, you asked your question in the wrong place. You posted in the "forum help" forum, which is meant as a place to ask questions about how to do things on the forum (like how do I post pictures, or how do I add a signature to my posts, etc).

I'm going to move your topic to the Austin Healey forum where many AH owners will see it and you will be more likely to get replies to your specific question. If you are reading this you will find that you are now in the Austin Healey forum.

Regards and welcome to the BCF!

Yes that is so but I have been told that the BT7 MII used mat Black not grey.

According to the Concours Guidelines (All rise!):

3000 MK II and MK III cars have grille teeth of anodized aluminum. Grilles with chrome-plated teeth will be scored as incorrect. The chromed steel inner oval grille surround piece overlaps the upper chromed steel hood piece. These models should have a light flat grey dull silver band of paint around the inner 3/4" to 1" of the inner grille surround (to the ridge peak), which was to prevent reflection of the teeth in that surface and hide the spot welds used to attach the lower mounting brackets.
