BT7 62 3000 Trans leak

My trans has always leaked some like most AH cars. My car sat most of the winter while I was doing lots of little project. I got it back on the road last weekend and just finished my 3rd 25 mile drive. After each trip it has dripped about a half a cup or more trans fluid onto the garage floor. Its dripping out of the bell housing where the cotter pin sticks out.

Any ideas on what I will need to fix?

I hope to drive to Conclave in June so I need to get this figured out soon.
I have had the car about 8 or 9 years and I think the clutch is slipping a little up about 4000rpm. I rarely drive there.

Thanks for any suggestions

Scott

Almost certainly the front seal on the gearbox (I presume you're losing the amount that's ending up on the floor from the gearbox). If your clutch is slipping best to fix them both--a little slipping will end up being a lot of slipping.

I had this problem and replaced the clutch/pressure plate and the front transmission seal. I also installed the rear main seal kit offered by British Car Specialists. I posted a writeup of the "Transmission Removal/Replacement". Search for this if you're interested. I still have external leaks from the sides of the transmission because I was unaware of the use of copper washers to seal those places. There also seems to be leaks from the joint of the transmission to the OD. But these of course do not affect the clutch, so I just live with them and top up the trans fluid regularly.
