1) where does the engine ground strap attach to the engine and where on the frame? the tran was out of mine when i got it. it was attached to the bolt below the starter on the bell housing. not sure if it should go there and where it would attach to the frame from there.

2) was there an Oring on the shaft in the diz? sort of remember reading somewhere saying "oring if fitted". don't see one on the Moss parts page. mine was out of the motor but did not have one on it. i assume they mean where the diz slides in to the diz base.

Thanks

1) I don't have a pic - there's a 5/16" threaded hole in the frame rail near the bracket for the clutch slave flex line. It goes from there to the adjacent bolt on the engine backing plate. I believe it's the forward side of the lower starter mount.

2) Fat o-ring goes in groove in center of pic.

There is no o-ring listed on any of my original service parts lists, BN6-BJ8. Additionally, I've had two different distributors rebuilt by Jeff (Advanced Distributors), and no o-rings were installed. I've owned my BN6 since '77 and never had a leak in this area! (No o-rings installed.)

Thanks,
Duane

I suggest installing the ground strap to one of the starter bolts, ensuring that all paint is removed from contact areas, both on the starter/bell housing and frame.

If my memory is correct, I beleive I acquired the o-ring from Brirtish Car Specialist.

after thinking about it, i liked the idea of having a better ground right on the starter. so i did move my ground strap. Thanks for the idea.
