Browser speed?

I've tested upload/download bandwidth several times in the last few days. With my 3Meg service I get between 2500 and 3000 download, 200 and (very rarely) 700 upload. Really don't think it's the bandwidth - more likely the "slowness" of Firefox on the Mac, as was mentioned earlier.

Interesting tidbit: if you do a traceroute (tracert for you Windows folks) to BCF, notice how packets really slow down just before hitting the BCF host server. Doing the same to CNN or BBC there's no delay anywhere along the route. At least for me here in the Northeast.

Firefox - "Generated in 0.027 seconds in which 0 seconds were spent on a total of 15 queries. Zlib compression enabled."

On the bandwidth test I got 2351.6 Kbps.

I constantly get 16 to 18 thousand KB from Seattle and 10 -12 thou from SF. Upload is usually 1500 to 2000

Just a guess but its probably due to the routers in a very busy Dallas Savvin data center.
