The BCF site is working perfectly when I use Internet Explorer, but now when I use Opera, which I use all the time, the BCF site comes up with an odd page stating "ionLoader". :confusion: PJ

Been doing some tweaking and Opera is opening the BCF again. Doesn't make sense, but it seems to be working for the moment. PJ

I am in the process of migrating to a new, faster, server. The new server has a different IP address and also, since I host my own name servers, the IP address of by name servers has to change also, which is something that my Registrar had to do and it takes some time to propagate fully across the internet. Hopefully things will settle down. I have taken care of the ionCube problem (I hope). If you are reading this post it means you are now on the NEW server. If you are not reading this it means you are on the old server still (based on where you live and how the new IPs have propagated). Of course if you don't see this post and are on the other server still, you won't know it because, well, you won' see this post :eagerness:

I was able to get to the forum earlier, then, for several hours I was unable to get here. Going to take a while (maybe up to 72 hours) for the name server IPs changes to fully propagate across the internet. Hope you all like the new server (and hope seems a little faster). The biggest difference is that, instead of mechanical server hard drives this newer box uses much faster SSDs.

I'm wondering if the "reachable vs non-reachable" paradox could be due to some ISPs having reverse-cache copies of BCF, and other various websites. Reverse caching can prevent overload on popular website servers.

I think ...

Could be. Hopefully things will settle out soon.

Couldn't get on to BCF most of yesterday afternoon on Firefox due to the 'ion' thing. All seems OK now. Good Job Bas!

This site is loading pages much faster than ever before! Thanks Basil, quite an improvement. :encouragement:

Yeah, any server move is bound to have a few glitches. The iOncube things was because one of the plug-ins we use here has the program code encrypted and required the ionCube program to be running in order to function properly. The more difficult issue was the fact that my name servers (which I host on my own server) IP addresses changed. I had to have my domain registrar make the change to reflect the correct IP addresses. That took a while to propagate across the world.

Just spent three days at work trying to work out why code that worked fine in our test environment was hanging in production while the business was going ape at the lack of data. Tried everything we could think of but no joy. Ended up rebooting the server as a last resort (which meant loads of other systems had to be taken down) and everything started working so I don't envy you having to migrate everything. One piece of code was bad enough.
