broken sway bar link - again

I have once again broken the sway bar end link on my BJ8 - this has now happened 3 times in a row.
Moss replacement end links and I have tried both rubber and urethane bushings.

The end links are on quite an acute angle, pointing inboard, almost as if the sway bar is too short?
Is this correct?

Or have I have done something wrong?

Just happened to have my BJ8 up on jackstands. Sounds like you might have the bracket on the lower A-arm installed bass-ackwards (actually, swapped side-to-side):

BTW. the std links are pretty weak. For certain, if you're using urethane bushings and/or an uprated swaybar you will snap them frequently. I bought this bar and links direct from Addco years ago.

Has the front suspension been apart for any reason? Could the plates the sway bar links attach to (Moss #28) be on the wrong sides of the car? The links should be pretty vertical if correctly installed.

The links should be at a right angle (90deg) to the sway bar. When I lowered my front end, I used Grade 8 bolts and 1/8" galvanized pipe to make links the correct length.

That is exactly what I discovered after the first set broke. PO had them on backwards.

i just put mine on and was not sure which way they went. from your picture i still can not see which side is the long side and which side is the short side. i think i have mine that the long side of the bracket is to the outside of the car.

If it can be put on backwards that is usually the way is do it the first time.
Yes it was apart - by me!!!

A pic or instruction on which one goes on which side, up would be helpful....................

In my photo--which the forum won't place vertically as it was taken--the 'short side' is inboard (tilt your head 90deg left to look at it--the short side is on top).
