My shop has 12 foot automatic doors. One came out of adjustment and I tried to fix it, didn't work, ladder slipped, fell 10 feet, broke my hip in two places. Fortunately the socket was not damaged, so no complete replacement needed. Happened a week and a half ago, Monday I'm being transferred to rehab unit for approx.. 2 Weeks. Later, PJ

Good heavens what a miserable situation, but glad you're on the mend. Let us know if there's anything we can do to help.

I get dizzy just *looking* at ladders!

PS - best if you give up bowling and rugby football for a while ... :jester:

Yeah, I'm done with ladders, with the rare exception of a step ladder. Sorry to hear of your fall.

Oh man, sorry to hear that. Prayers for a speedy and complete recovery!❤️‍🩹

All the best for a speedy recovery Paul.

That's awful Paul. At 10 feet, I'm glad to hear it was not worse. I think we may be about the same age and our shop has 12 foot walls too. Every time I have to go up the 10 foot ladder it makes me really nervous and very careful. Here's wishing you a speedy recovery.

Ouch! Never easy. It’s good to hear you are graduating from the hospital.
IM rodding or plates & screws, (or both) or hemiarthroplasty? What is your weight bearing status?
Hang in there! We are all rooting for you…

Paul, that's terrible. I'm happy it didn't turn out worse though. I pray you have a speedy recovery.

Thanks for the good wishes fellas' much appreciated. Going into rehab tomorrow for they believe will be too weeks, possibly less. According to my doctor, Because I was in such good physical shape was the reason further damage wasn't done. I think i did enough! Hope the bolts don't rust :rolleyes2:PJ

Are the bolts Whitworth? :chair:

Discharged Thursday and our ambulance crew brought me home and carried me into the house. I have a walker like the one used in the hospital and I can get around the house very slowly, Very slowly! My wife is my nurse here and is VERY STRICT!!! Gee-whiz, the rules here are more strict than the hospital! But I think I'll keep her anyway.
Only 5 weeks to go! :rolleyes2:

It's good to hear you're home Paul. Good luck with your recovery and rehab!
