Broke Down Again !!

It will be interesting to see what color you come up with. Looks like Pedro's gun got stuck and he spraying until he ran out of paint.

Wayne ,

I truly want to barf just thinking about all
the cheapa$$ stuff dpo Pedro did to this once
fine auto. Yeah, his Wal-Mart gun used up the
entire supply of the $2.99 a gallon K-mart Blue
Light Special shiny briliant red auto paint.

I am thinking something more in keeping with the
environmental movement. Also something jolly like
Christmas green holly leaves with their red berries.

I'm going to try this color engine bay for a while
and see how I like it. What do you think? OK?

That'snot too far off from Java green which was a Triumph color. Green engine bay with a red exterior... Ho Ho Ho.
A women in our area had a Volkswagen Golf and each body part was painted a different color. Her license plate read
PROZAC

hohoho,

Maybe get a few raindeers to pull ya around the island Dale.

Just kidding, Dale I enjoy reading your threads and respect your commitment.

Jobster, I see by your # of post your fairly new to Dale's woes, Check the archives, should give you at least a week of good reading.

True, looking for some info on a repair I intended to do, I came across this forum. Noticed that a certain Tinster was making an effort in rebuilding a TR6. Not only good reading, and funny at times (for me as reader that is, not for Tinster/Dale) but Dale also happens to write excellent manuals for certain tasks. And I really appreciate Dale's perseverance in getting the car in a decent shape again.
And Dale, yes I am not a native english speaker (live in the Netherlands) so if I offended you in any way, I was not aware of it. But then again, I can be somewhat sarcastic at times. Keep up the good work and put me on your ignore list if and when needed. But please promise me that you will buy another car from Pedro once yours is done. Otherwise things will get boring here...

Well, ya'll shamed me for my first choice of the
environmentally correct green engine bay color.

So very much against my better judgement, I bow to
the Will of the forum and purchased a paint of my
second choice color.

The things you guys talk me into attempting!

Jobster- no harm, no foul. You really caught me
on a bad day. I almost met someone from your country
once.

So here's a photo of the forum members selected engine
bay color for Amos.

the gray or magenta?...lol

gotta love the tropical color!!!

next there will be palm trees painted on the doors

Silly boy!

The grey is the rust primer,
even I KNOW THAT ONE!!

D

Dale, you have been living in Puerto Rico to long and we can see the Hispanic influence coming through. Remember this is a British car, even Pedro knew that.

I have always thought Dale should be priased for his cool head. I would have been in jail long ago.
Headline would read:
Rabid Sports Car Owner Murders Local Businessman With Dull Screwdriver!

Keep us entertained Tinster, and keep up the good work.
I had a similar adventure once with an MGB and finally just gave it up in despair.

That much rust than to cover up huh .............

Dale, Don't even think on painting the engine bay that color. That is a huge faux pas!!

/bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/iagree.gif But......it is his car. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif

No self respecting architect would allow and engine bay to be painted that color on a car with a red exterior.

He could have his fashion license revoked for a crime like that!

Dale - you've got to be kidding. With all the work (and gazillions of dollars) you've put into that car ...

It's not perfect but the rubberized trunk pain also acts as a rust deterant, easy to apply and if it ever gets scratched you just spray it over for a perfect match.
