Brit's By The Sea Sunday - Who's going?

I really don't know who won, Bob. There were a lot of really nice TR6's amongst all of the other classes. If that green beauty took first, that's great. The red frame off resto next to me was a beauty as well and could have easily won.

How about all of the nice 250's?

The only time that I've ever seen more TR6's is at Day of Triumph in Brookline, MA at the Larz Anderson museum and it's ALL Triumphs!

I have a bunch of trophies and while they are nice, I really prefer meeting and talking with people with like interests at these events. I went to two events last year and didn't register my car for voting and I'll probably do the same this year. I still have the "No Votes" sign in my trunk under all of the other junk.

Engine by Paul, Trunk by Dale is my motto!

Anybody have more info on that Carmine Red TR8 coupe behind the GT6 with it's bonnet up?

I wonder how close it was to mine on the production line, VIN would tell us. Looks like a near twin except we have different style sunroofs.

%This one?

That's the one. Much better paint than mine, same with the bumpers. If its an ACN car, anyone remember if it was an automatic, that's cool. Especially if it is ACNXXXX15 as mine is TCNXXXX15. From what little I can see in the engine compartment it also looks identical to mine.

Yes Don !

I usually take home the

"Best of Trunk" award. :winner1:

Dale where do you put the folding chairs?

<span style="color: #990000">Bill,

Don't need no folding chairs. I do my roadside breakdown
repairs standing or on my back under the car. Sometimes
I sit in the grass and cry my eyes out in frustration.

But HECK!! Things are on the upswing, buddy. Only two new
breakdowns in the last 39 miles driven!! That's 11 miles
driven between breakdowns. Better than the previous 2 year
average of 7 miles driven between breakdowns.

And don't forget that 1400 mile run-or did I dream that??

Since my car is now way more reliable at 11 miles, I have
revised the award winning trunk layout a bit.

je,je,je,je!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My vote for overall best in show would have to go to the Austin A30! [/quote]

Bob's picture of the Austin A30 brought a tear to my eye. The A30 was my dad's and our family's first car...traded in his Norton motorcyle and side car for a 1955 A30. Family vacation was a 9-10 hour drive from Manchester to Newquay in Cornwall, UK. Me and my younger sister in the back seat...towed home made trailer with the camping gear in it. You could probably do the drive in about 5 hours now.

The A-30 was affectionately called "NED" ...registration plate was NED975. The car eventually was passed to both my older sisters. It was finally parked at my eldest sisters house in Fleet, Hampshire and much to my disappointment left the family about six months ago. She sold it 'cos she had to move house!

Skinned my first knuckle and learnt most of what I know about cars working on NED with my dad. Gotta love that A series engine.

Happy memories!

Bill, that light green one from the back before the Healeys. Is that a Rootes car?

Great show, perfect weather, glad to meet Paul and great pics Kodanja!

Where were all the sidescreen Triumph TRs? Only three TR3's all 3a's showed up. Disapointing. Granted the show was put on by the the CT MG Club, but there must have been 40+ MGA's & MGTDs at the show.
