A few of our TR6s have been making the reverse journey back to their birthplace. A few questions.
1. Do they convert them to right hand drive?
2. If so, besides switching the steering rack, what do they do about the dashboard? The instruments will be on the left and the glovebox in front of the driver.
3. How do they get 48 more hp from just a fuel injection system supposedly powered by a windshield washer motor?
4. Has anyone over here (shhh...)installed that system in their car?

Getting a right-hand drive dash is no problem at all. Rimmer Brothers sells them as I'm sure others as well

I figured as much.
Years ago, in rural Oregon I ran into a TR6 owner who had the fuel injected engine. I never asked him who or how.

PD-Fuel injection was only a part of the changes needed to produce the extra hp. Fuel injection allowed the use of nice straight equal length runners to the head that provided much better flow than the intake manifold used with dual carbs. Also a more radical cam was used, CR raised to 9.5, dual outlet exhaust manifold, and a different dist. curve.
It is possible to collect the parts to convert to PI (it would be easier to find the parts in the UK), but more efficient electronic fuel injection systems are available and less troublesome. Also, triple Weber DCOEs have their following.

Correction. That was a TR5 not a TR6 or a TR 250. PI equipped. I didn't think they could be imported here.
The TR6 engine would be a natural for PI. Sturdy unit, maybe the best part of the car. The rear suspension? I'm not so sure but heavier duty parts are available.

It would be interesting to use one of the new FI systems with the British Lucas FI manifold. Would look correct, too.

They can given the age but not sure if you have to do anything to them certification wise. There was a window where they could be imported that closed for a while. If you were military and purchased the car for use while stationed overseas, you were allowed to bring that car back with you when a permanent change of station you brought back into the country. A guy I knew in San Antonio brought back a green RHD TR5 with white hardtop/surrey top when he came back from Lakenheath to Randolph AFB.
