TR2/3/3A British Racing Green Paint Codes

Does anyone know the paint codes to have BRG mixed? I'm using Nason epoxy and urethane primer and would like to use their paint as well. The local place I got the primer can mix the paint, but I need the code. I'm looking for the darker green, not Triumph Racing Green. Thanks, Trevor

You probably know that "British Racing Green" varies depending on time period, marque, and use.

To my knowledge Tom, all the original codes are no longer valid because of the difference in paint used years ago. Probably need to get a color chip of the desired color for a modern paint and have it matched.

Paul - definitely agree. But there are many different shades of "British Racing Green".

I think today, most guys just find a paint chip online, and use that, as there's no "official global standard" British Racing Green.

Darker...that's what I went with...PPG 46169. It's actually called "Jaguar Racing Green". I am sure they can cross to your paint. You can see in 2 pictures that the color is more green...or black depending on lighting.

I also used the Nason products and wanted a darker, less yellowish BRG. I happened across a Miata that a neighbor owned that was a special edition BRG Miata. I believe the year was 1991, and I got the paint code off his car. It's a deep, dark BRG and I'm very pleased with the results. I believe the paint code was 'HU'.

My 1966 TR4A was painted this color in 1999. I absolutely love it. Photo attached where you can see it both in sunlight and shade:

As Paul states above, no one can mix this anymore due to modern paint requirements (emissions?). To do chip repair, in 2022 they had to computer match it to a panel and came up with PPG 941514 Dark Green (adjusted). Not sure what that means exactly
