Another interesting BMC vid. LHD Tricarbs on the dock no doubt headed for US markets

Interesting to see a number of cars with the windscreens removed, presumably to decrease the height for stacked transport storage. I saw a Healey instruction page recently detailing how to reinstall the windscreen on a Healey.

Sad to think that as a result of union intransigence and worse and government interference that they were doomed by then. A few years later both Lord Stokes and Michael Edwardes told PM Harold Wilson that 40,000 redundancies were necessary to save the company. He wouldn't allow one and so signed their death warrant in order to get re-elected and pass the problem of dealing with the mess to a successor.

Only this last year has Britain made as many cars as it did in BMC's heyday.

Great film, but so sad that such a large source of pride was laid low by... well, we're not supposed to discuss politics here (and I'm one of the enforcers), but I think it's obvious that it wasn't the competition that did in BMC. So sad.
