Howdy all!

Here's a question that occured to me over the weekend -- is there a British or European version of Hemmings Motor News, either print or on-line? Put another way, I'd love to hear from our friends on the other side of the Atlantic about whether there's a listing of classic cars for sale in Europe and the UK that is particularly popular and well-read.

At the time that I left, the publication "Exchange and Mart" was a good way to find classic cars for sale in the UK, but it also carried ads for just about anything that was for sale, including the kitchen sink! Don't know if it's still around.

One resource that I love using is Practical Classics magazine. The classifieds in the back not only advertise classics for sale, but it also gives you a good idea of the going prices. You can find that on the shelf at Barnes and Noble. There are similar publications for sale in the same area of the shelf, so take a look at the classifieds in the back and see what you like the look of.
 
"Exchange & Mart" is still going but they sell everything, and not so many classic cars- though I've had a quick look at their site and noticed a few advertised, but I didn't expect to see any! Another publication is "Autotrader" but they too focus on modern cars and not many classics show up.

There's nothing like Hemmings here, though, as said, Practical Classics is probably the best source.

Their web site may be more useful, given the delay in getting the magazine in the USA. I've no idea whether the same cars are advertized on line as are in the magazine's sales section.

If there's something particular you're looking for you might contact an owner's club. Most of these are listed in Practical Classics, and other magazines, too. A google search will turn them up too.
 
I bought my TR5 and Elan Sprint through Exchange and Mart; happy days.
