I managed to walk over to the Lab the other day and put the TR3 battery on charge. The dryer sheets seem to have kept the critters from nesting in the car.

But so far I haven't been able to make it back over there to see if it will start. I have tried a few times, but don't have the strength.

The Original British Car Day is Sunday. I pre-registered. Hopefully, I can get the car going and enter, but if I can't, the registration fee goes to charity anyway. I'm thinking that, if I can get the car to the show at all, I won't worry about it's being dirty from sitting all winter. Just being there is enough for me and anyone who doesn't like a dirty car will just have to live with it.

John, I'm with you! I took the MG and boat to a show on Sunday. Gave both a quick clean and didn't sweat it beyond that. Got plenty of thumbs ups, nice comments, etc. No one noticed the "winter residue". Even let some little ones sit in the boat and car to have their pictures taken. Gas before the show: $30, entry at the show: $10, smiles on the kids (and parent's) faces: Priceless!

TRclassic3 helped me get the car ready last year, but I don't want to put it on him again unless he insists! He already fixed my porch and cut my grass a couple times this year!

Had a meeting last night - so, Ms Triss and I went - gorgeous evening! At one point I found myself driving in front of a 40's Plymouth - was hoping to get a picture but he got stuck at a light while I drove through.

TRclassic3 came to the rescue yesterday. After he mowed my lawn, we started the TR3 for the first time since fall. Didn't back it out of The Lab, but got it up to operating temperature. He started instantly and we found no problems, so I will be able to attend British Car Day on Sunday, June 6, which will just make the deadline for driving during British Car Week.

The TR3 might be dirty, but I'll be there. If TRclassic3 gets some time, he might even clean the TR3 before the show, but I'm happy just to be able to attend.

Even I, a sarcastic, jaded old curmudgeon, am touched by the helpful kindness TRclassic3 has shown toward me.

I took the TR6 & the Cortina out for a run on
Tuesday.It's been raining since then (113 percent of normal).
I guess I shouldn't have washed the TR!

Had the Spider out twice last weekend, and figured "Drive your British Car Week" was a good enough excuse to drive it to work today (supposedly a no-no on my classic insurance).
