British car songs?

Bruce,

Here's an obscure one... by Freddy Cannon

"Hey, everybody get out of the street now
I hear the roar of an XKE now
Sloppy sweater and pony tail
And the cop on the corner is turnin' pale
Whoo! It's Abigail Beecher, our history teacher"

I also just remembered "Red Cortina" by the Saw Doctors.
I guess I should look more closely at my own list.
Bruce

And another by the Saw Docotrs, "Galway and Mayo" they sing about driving around "in me fathers old Ford car". These guys are Irish, so I envision and Anglia or something similar.
Bruce

There's one that keeps coming up on eBay,
called "In the Days of Ford Cortina".

- Doug

"Short Skirt Long Jacket" by Cake

"She's changing her name from Kitty to Karen, she trading in her MG for a white Chrysler Lebaron"

It is actually a pretty good song even though it demonstrates extremely poor taste and sets a bad example for our youth as far as automobiles go!

Does "Green Onions" by Booker T. and the MGs count, were the MGs named after the car?

That was a trippy vid.

Does anyone have a 'sample' MP3 of the Monkees MGBGT they wouldn't mind emailing to me please?
TIA!
