I don't think I posted this yet (hope I didn't). I attended my first British Car show in a couple of years a few weeks ago in St Augustine, Florida. Nice location at the British Pub there, nice event, good gathering.

I'll take the red MGA coupe and the black MGTF.

The dark-green TD won best of show. It was really, really nice. A purist would probably whine about the color (like they do about my bumpers), but it was a really super nice car.

The green Spitfire got 1st place in our age category, I took 2nd. It was nice too - got me thinking about Spitfires again.

Looking at the RB "B" in the photo was what I was talking about a while back. The painted bumpers that match the car give it a totally different appearance. Before I sold the 79, I was going to give it that treatment if I restored it. I think it makes the car much more attractive. Shame they didn't originally come that way. The one in the photo is really sharp! JMHO

Does *anything* look better than a Healey 100 with the windscreen folded back?
Really sharp!

We had a guy come to the ~Moss Motors Event~ up here in a double-decker bus too.
There is even a British double-decker bus club! (now *that's a hobby I'll skip...I barely can squeeze my small cars into my place as it is).

Nice pictures!

For one thing, Steve, you could never get through the paddock tunnel at Watkins Glen or Pocono...and many other places.

But it would be *different*....I'll give you that!

My favourite was an old GM (front-wheel drive) motorhome with a special ramp added to the back so that the race car could be driven inside. There was also a smaller living quarters area.

By the way, not sure if I ever told you this.
When I was little, my folks would stay at the seashore (I think Galway, but I'm not sure) and rent a "cabin". The "cabin" was an old double-decker bus parked on the beach. Somewhere, we have a picture of them with a bunch of d-d busses on the beach. Gotta find that picture!

Some nice cars there, but I still don't get why a sports car (insert marketing slogan of your choice; exciting, rebellious etc etc) would be brown.

Look at the era of the car. Bright orange and dark-green carpeting was in style in new houses through the early 70s but it sure looks weird now.
