British car show in Clearwater Fl 10/28

Yeah, i saw them working on it the one day i stopped in there.

They also did the Green B (78?) that had the interior of my choice

Nice to see it complete, I am a convertible kind of guy, but i have to admit, the B GT and that A Coupe are real pretty.

The GT's were not well represented, i only saw one pretty white one.

oh, and sorry i missed your PM, i did respond now...

I think that roll bar is tooooooo high, looks like it needs a radar antana on it.

Jack! Note the "SCCA" sticker! That was a bar for competition racing... "compliant" with the rules. They fired it up while I was there... that ain't a "street" car. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Shoot Doc that's what I figured but it is ugly. No one is that tall. There must be a better way.

Wonder if it has to be all welded or could you unbolt it to make the car look good.

Welded, Jack, in all the production classes.
Jeff

If'n it goes onna track, it wears a regulation bar. "Looks" got nothin' to do with it.

But looks are important. What do you weld it to where it meets the body? No frame to weld to?

Guess that's out, I'll just street race. hehe.

It turned out to be a nice day and a nice show. Turn out was lower than I expected but with a new location and a forecast for rain all week this could of been a factor. I'm glad I had a chance to meet Rob and his B should be on the road in no time, thanks for the kind words.

You fabricate plates that tie the cage into vertical members of the structure, as well as the floor pan.
If you want, Jack, I'll try and get some shots of the one in my '62, and the one in the Bugeye. (Yes, the flying Bugeye.)
Jeff

i was at the show! was looked like it was going to rain, but it held off, had my xj6 there, hoping to have my b there next year

Jeff, I would be intrested in how that job is approached.

Hey Darren, are you close to Clearwater? I am in St Pete (Just south of the Gandy Bridge)

What "stage" is your B in?

Rob

just got it yesterday, its not pretty right now, but body is sound and almost rust free, and doesnt run (yet) i am in Orlando, if you were at the chow i was the only jag sedan there! i just got the B off of the trailer this morning, along with a multitude of parts, i will post pics soon.

Another shot of a happy car at that show:

Reminds me of a Frogeye Sprite grin!!

Depends on what ya call an MG, IMHO...

A CSX Cobra ~could~ be called an AC Bristol, too...

Darren, I saw the Jag, unfortunately i didn't get too close, as i was doing a lot of "B" research.

Let us know how the B project is going, we love before and after pics.

Rob

as soon as i can get back into the garage to organize all the parts i got i can start taking pics and stripping down, oh boy htis is gonna be more fun than the jag was as there arent nearly as many wires under the hood or under the dash!

B's are much less complex, especially the electrics. Where'd/how'd you find an "almost rust free" one? Let us ~IN~ on that secret? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

Maybe Jolly has a stash of B's?
