British Car Day - Pics

What's the charming little coupe in the third and partially in the fourth photos with the "LeMans" script?

What a fantastic show!
I love Canada, except for the weather I would live there.

Wow, some cool cars! Love the little Spit with the racing head rest!
That's a recreation of the 1965 "Macau" Spitfire...looks nicely done too.

That is a 1963 Sunbeam Harrington Le Mans-one of about 250 made and it was the one being towed in on a tow strap! I know this because I was the guy driving it to the show for the owner as he is not yet comfortable driving a RHD car. I was following behind him as he drove to the show in a pick up truck. All went well on the 8 mile drive from our Sunbeam club's host hotel until I pulled into the car show's entrance and then the engine went stone cold dead as if the ignition switch had been turned off. It would crank but no fire. A quick check to see if gas was getting into the carbs and also to see if there were any loose wires and nothing found. So on goes the tow strap and we figured we would troubleshoot the problem when we were parked up. Turns out the new dizzy rotor had shorted internally-it was a knock off part and I had heard of that happening but not first hand.
A new genuine Lucas part fixed that and it drove well all the way back to the hotel after the show!
I have heard of the Bronte show for years but had never been so when Tigers East/Alpines East planned to do their annual United there I was not going to miss it. What an incredible assortment of cars and at noon there was a respectful moment of silence for the Queen as well.

Glad of the happy ending. I don't recall ever seeing one, likely never will other than in photos.

Thanks for the info!

Just had a look around, the tail lights are the same as used on the Lotus Elan Series-1 and early Series-2's. Probably a few other makes in that time period. Did the engine have Weber side-drafts fitted originally?

Beautiful example of an interesting car. And that whole rear panel looks very Elan-like!
