Most of us are probably familiar with the various old American cars in Cuba. But here's a surprise (to me, at least).

If you look at ~this link~ and click through the side show, you'll see an interesting Bugeye and Jag sedan.

I've also seen a photo of an A35 in Cuba.

(and didn't we have a Cuban member here with an MG a few years ago?....or am I imagining that?)
 
Pimp my bugeye! Looks like Christine in slide 6. we were there a number of years ago and there were more Lada's and Nissans than old cars. Interesting too how multi nationals get around the embargo. We were drinking miller beer from Mexico and Coca cola from Holland.
 
I've never been there yet (want to!) but the classics are still around in good quantity, you just have to go the right places in the country where they are more commonly seen, or so I'm told...

I've also seen photos from other people of British cars in Cuba, but the American cars are the most common old cars...
 
There was a guy on Mark Bradakis' email list who lived in Cuba with an MGA. A bunch of us sent parts to Barney Gaylord and he mailed them to Cuba. Might be the same guy.

actually you just go to the corner store and buy them - they are everywhere.
 
Got a story about old cars and Cuba. The 1950 Ford Tudor I still own and drive, had it while in the Navy, stationed in Charleston SC, painted taxicab yellow.
So, we're out on ops in the Sub, and some moron mess cook dumps the leftovers into the toilet, which goes to #2 sanitary, without checking content....and there was a fork in there.
Blew sanitaries, could not close the hull valve.
Had to break off ops, head into Gitmo to allow a diver to find what caused the jammed valve (they found the mangled fork), and one of the guys came running to get me, wanted to know how I got my car to Gitmo.
Grabbed #2 periscope, wheeled it around, there at the end of the pier was a taxicab yellow 1950 Ford Tudor.

Some day I'll tell you about all the stolen cars that ended up in Colombia.
