Watching The Graduate for maybe the 20th time.

Was there ever a movie that captured the subject and the times as well?

Caddy Shack, but only golfers who have belonged to private clubs would get the inside jokes and how true to life the windbags really are. That's what makes it so funny and appealing to everyone, but most people don't know that's how a lot of snobs really act.

We watched "The Graduate" as well... Caddy Shack came MUCH later!!

'smits will laugh her butt off when I tell her of this post. :snork:

During my college days, I worked one summer at New Orleans Country Club. Worked the grille by the swimming pool and the "Pop House" out on the golf course, serving soft drinks, hamburgers, beer, etc.

Quite the experience. My favorite memory was serving a party one night. The party had a tropical theme, and the drinks of choice were Mai-Tais and Fog Cutters. There was a fair amount unconsumed at the end of the party, and my two co-workers and I grabbed what was left over. Poured the concoctions into a couple of big institutional plastic mayonnaise jars, grabbed our dates (now wives for two of us!), and went out to Mardi Gras Fountain on the lakefront and polished them off.

You know, I never really watched this movie in it's entirety before, so last night was my opportunity. I stuck with it, but was basically underwhelmed. All it did for me was to re-affirm why I never really liked Dustin Hoffman as an actor. Maybe it's the roles he has chosen to do, but he is not one of my favorites.

I watch for the Duetto.

Ditto the Duetto - sweet exhaust note.

But Mrs. Robinson's legs are kinda easy on the eye...

"Goo-coo-ca-choo!"

That exhaust was overdubbed with something else, methinks. It doesn't sound Alfa like to me in several scenes.

Yeah, figured that. But it still sounds great!
