When I bought the car the agreement was my friend who was selling it to me (he found it in a shed and it had been there for 15 yrs)would get it up to registration standard and from there i would begin the fine tuning etc.fun fun fun.
Having owned a mark 1 bt7 previously I knew what to expect....or so i thought, it ran and stopped, Geoff (my previously mentioned mate) had repaired all rust damage and i was happy with it.
As it is now I have
-replaced most electrical items
-fitted new hood
-fitted stainless exhaust
-totally rebuilt the engine (that took some time!)
-fitted new interior carpets and trim
-telescopic rear shocks and reco front shocks
-as of last weekend it now has a five bolt rear end (my son and I did not make it back from a drive under our own steam) Dohhh.
Funny how everyone said "you better replace that four bolt rear end " but my reply was "its been fine for sixty years why do it now?" maybe coz you have given the power plant a boost and its not up to the job.....that's why.
Anyway when the Healey is mentioned my wife just sighs and looks at the ceiling but hey i have and will continue to enjoy every bit of time spent on it
even if it is frustrating at times.
