Break in tighten up

So I only got about 200 miles on the new motor and need to tighten up head bolts and such. I was hoping to get the 500 on her and see a bit of oil forming around the head gasket. I also noticed a bit of carbon coming from the exhaust port. I guess I need to tighten the two header bolts in that area.

QUestions:
Sequence for head retorque?

I can't remember the lbs for the ARP bolts. They do have the ARP lube on them.

Valve lash ??? What would be the best setting? -- cold or hot?

Any other suggestions would be appreciated???

Anything to check besides regreasing fittings? And making sure all is still tight?

Go right by the book. Is 40 for head bolts, and 25 for rocker bolts.

Yeah, but these are ARP bolts. They have a different torque setting. And, I can't remember either setting...

If the threads are the same, then the torque should be the same as original. The bolts my be able to take more but the torque is for the down pressure of head to block and should be the same. Don't risk pulling the threads out of the block with higher torque as well. It should work forever at the original setting, its been working, right? Just recheck the torque and you should be good to go. I have to remember to do that myself and I just know I am gonna forget it once the car is on the road.
