Hello, I'm having trouble bleeding the brakes on my 76B. I have new pads and rotors new shoes in the rear, I've adjusted the rear shoes so they turn with resistance, I've manualy bled them twice, making sure the resovoir stayed full, the pedal still seems to be soft with constant pressure but pumps up stiff, I don't beleave I have any leaks, is there any rubber tubing in the brake lines that may be bulging under pressure? Yes, when I did my brakes I got the stainless set. ("mesh" over the hose). $$$, but ,IMHO, worth it.

Imagine that the brake hoses are the number one thing overlooked when re-doing the brakes.

Replaced my fuel line hose up front at that time and forgot the ones to and from the pump. OOPS!!! Lucky they failed IN my garage.

There are only three rubber hoses, the two up front going to the calipers and one in the rear near the battery box going to a union on top of the rear axle. Sometimes, brake hoses break down on the inside and clog up the calipers or pistons. When you bled them the first time, did the fluid coming out look black?
 
definitely inspect the soft lines going out to your brakes... My front ones were about 1 step from total failure when I did my brakes, and they definitely had squishiness until i replaced the softlines. My front softlines were so bad when I got my car that the right front would occassionally spritzer the under carriage in that area, but still held enough pressure to allow me to stop the car... Definitely did not build much confidence in the safety of the car back then.
 
Thanks for the help, the lines to the calipers look to be in good shape, but I will add them to the replace list for this winter, haven't got under the car to check the other rubber line yet, but I think I will just change that while I'm at it, however I bled the brakes again and they seem to be better, not as much fade, so maybe(hopefuly) it was just alot of air!!
