Cowboy wants to sell his Sprite, its got a couple small issues.
No brake lights. Chased electrons from voltage at the fuse block to the pigtail Lucars beside the hydraulic M/C & pedal box. One Lucar was a nice fuzzy green-blue colour. cleaned up the bullet ends and confirm the lights work by shorting the two. Cobbed a few single Lucars from his Midget parts car, lubed 'em and reconnected. Still no lights... chased volts to the switch, nothing comin' out the other side. feh.
There's no way around it, the pedal box must be lifted up an inch or two to undo, unscrew the oval Lucas switch. Four fasteners each side, two of which are Phillips screws (which seems silly to me). 1/4" drive swivel socket and short extension worked perfectly. Switch "nubbin" was stuck at the "in" position. Some fiddling and tuner spray, accompanied by a whack or two from a screwdriver handle got it to pop out, a good scrubbing with #600 wet-or-dry and more spray lube had it functional again.
While the traveling contingent is lollin' around out there at Lake of th' Ozarks with nothin' to do, they oughta have a contest to see who can get their switch out fastest.
...then reinstalled & adjusted properly.
