Brake & Tail Lights NONE!

Ah! finally got the Rorty Beast 67 (BJ8)out for a great ride. Problem,
Lost tail lights and brake lights! Still have working turn signals F & B. Checked fuse box under hood all OK. Put in new brake light switch and things were ok untill this last ride.
Any ideas as to loosing back lights. All wires and switches hooked up ok. Is there another fuse in the harness?

Thanks

Dave Rusell or Keoke will be along "short"ly and help you get 'er fixed right up...

There may be another fuse in line in the rear wiring for the license plate lamps. This shouldn't affect the stop & tail, however.

If the stop & tail don't work but the front side markers still work, I would check the rear ground connections to the body (black wires). There is really no other common wiring for both stop & tail. It wouldn't hurt to clean all of the rear bullet connectors & grounding lugs.

The stop is fed via the brake switch & fuse block switched fuse. The tail lamps are fed via the lighting switch, not fused. It may be possible to have more than one problem at the same time, but not likely.

Check here for a late model BJ8 wiring diagram:

Thanks!
When the new wiring harness was put in they did not put the ground with the plug in on the light to the body. When I bumped the tail light it went on, as light fixture to body was the only ground. Put on new ground wires all is well. Won't have to worry about someone customising my rear.
