Pro'lly a good idea, but I've "got away" with not having to do it on a few occasions. Empirical test would be to just check pedal feel both before and after the swap. "Fade" or build-up on pumping it a few times after the change would indicate you need to bleed it. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif
 
Before you undo the switch, take the cap off the master cyl, put a plastic bag over and refit the cap so that when you take the switch off the fluid doesn't run out of the hole.

I think the correct answer is yes you need to bleed the system, but you can probably get away without.
 
That's what I was thinking /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif Maybe pre-fill the new brake switch with fluid too to get an air bubble out of it.

The fluid needs bled since it's 15 years old anyway.
