Brake/Suspension up-date

I lost my previous post for this, so I'll try submitting it again.

Here are some updated photos of the new master, rebuilt PDWA, rear brakes and the super light new Brembo drums from TRF.

I hope that Dale likes the color combination!!

Re: Brake/Suspension up-date

I believe you have it better than any that left the factory. Looks absolutely beautiful. Cheers

Re: Brake/Suspension up-date

Well, maybe more resistant to rust than when it left the factory. Thanks!

Re: Brake/Suspension up-date

Beautiful to the eye.

But a question for ya?

All my brake components are also new.

Yours do not leak fluid.

Mine leak fluid all over the place,

Why is this?

d

Re: Brake/Suspension up-date

I agree totally with the others, It looks great!
You and your wife going to split the cleaning chores now? You can wash the car and clean the interior and windows and she can clean the newly painted parts? Hope she doesn't read this!!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

Re: Brake/Suspension up-date

Looks great and I would just as well look at a detailed frame/underbody as anything else on the car.
I wish they made those alfin's in the 10 inch drums.

Re: Brake/Suspension up-date

Dale,

Mine are not completely assembled, adjusted (see brake cable) or bled yet, so there is no fluid to leak (see empty master and fronts not yet installed). But, I can assure you that the old system didn't leak after 34 years and neither will the new one.

When did you suddenly develop brake fluid leaks? I can't believe that David left anything to chance with the brakes when he was there.

Every day is an adventure with Amos, isn't it?

Re: Brake/Suspension up-date

looks real good Paul.Did you stay with oem wheel cyl?I just put alum. Brembo's on mine and went to Morgan 7/8 wheel cyl

Re: Brake/Suspension up-date

OEM for my 74 for the wheel cylinder. I thought that these were the larger bore, but maybe I'm confused with the clutch master & slave bores.

Too many parts ordered over the last six months for my little brain to track.

Re: Brake/Suspension up-date

OEM is .70 bore, TR3 and 4 used .75 for a year or two which I had installed about 4 years ago,now went to Morgan cyl.which are.875.The .75 cyl really didn't make much difference so I thought I'd try the .875.Would like to see a little more brake at the back.Maybe the material was to hard on the last set?

Re: Brake/Suspension up-date

Paul,

Absolutely spectacular! Judging by the photos there appears to be some great workmanship and more importantly good progress with the installation!

Re: Brake/Suspension up-date

Harry,

Thanks for the compliments. One of the reasons that I get along so well with Erik is that he can read my mind about the car. If we're working together on something, I know what he's thinking and vice versa.

He also knows that I want it done only one way and that is the right way, so whatever time it takes, it will take to get it right, because there is no other option.

We halted the assembly of the right rear suspension due to a very slight leak from the axle seal. I didn't have another and I'll have to wait until next week for the seal and new nyloc nut, but the cars not moving anyhow, so why not?

It also gives me plenty of time to take pictures along the way.

Re: Brake/Suspension up-date

Tom,

I almost missed your post. I have taken over all of the maintenance of the car, including ALL cleaning, top or bottom, via the old familiar "it's exactly what you wanted, so now you take care of it" line from the boss.

Kind of like when I got my first dog......
