I just got my brake servo back from being rebuilt. They did a great job. I spent the extra 30$ to get it powdercoated...it almost looks to good to use.

Could you post a pic and let me know where you sent it off.
I need both repairs done as well.
Thanks.

here is a picture. The turn around time was pretty less than a week from the time he recieved it until it was in my hands. My battery died in my camera. I will see if I can't post some better ones tomorrow.

Jackag:the booster looks nice, does the fellow in Indiana have a web-site or maybe a phone#? (if not I can try writing him at the address you listed)I'd like to contact him to rebuild mine. Are these the folks that bought out Partco after they closed down? ...just curious.
thanks!

I think they are the guys that bought Partco after they broke down.

I think the phone number is: 260-426-3331

I paid $85 for the rebuild, $30 for the powdercoat and $10 for shipping.

How did you decide to get the servo rebuilt and for those that have, what was the biggest difference. My brakes on the 6 work well, they do require a fair amount of pedal force to work, but will definetly lock up the tires. I know on other power assisted cars, when you start the car with your foot on the brake, the brake pedal will depress somewhat when vacuum is applied to the servo from the manifold. Mine doesn't really do this. Is this indicitive of a needed rebuild? I thought it might need a rebuild but when I asked my British car mechanic he said that no pedal travel was normal on start up and that the brakes were never that easy to push. Just curious about your experiences.

I think if everything is working normally (for a british car) then your servo is likely okay. Mine was in obvious need of a rebuild as when i hooked up the vacuum line you could hear the hiss of leaking seals inside the unit.

Mine was working ok but the master cylinder leaked and stripped most of the paint off of it. So it rusted...that was the main reason I got it rebuilt.
