Brake Servo Question 62 BT7 Tricarb

I am restoring a 1962 BT7 with Tri carbs. The car had a brake servo unit, which I believe was a factory option for the BT7. The servo unit is a Girling 5 inch servo, with a 3/4 piston, which seems a bit unusual for Healey models most others are 7 inch. Moss and Victoria British do not carry the correct parts for this model. Are there any other Healey owners with this model servo?

Also, I am not sure where the servo unit should be mounted. Is it the same location as later model Healeys (between the right hand foot well and the inner fender)? When I disassembled the car, my servo was mounted above the inner fender aft of the heater blower.

--Hi Bob, Usually the servo is mounted on a pair of supports that attach to studs on the engine side of the passengers foot well.

If repair kits are not available I would suggest getting one of the new PBR units from OZ and installing it as defined above. The PBR units may be available here in the US but I do not know who the distributor is.--Fwiw---Keoke

I bought mine from Tom's Import, looks like he still carries it. Tom's Import

I will mount it on the foot well.
