Brake Pressure Sensor Options

Today is a beautiful day here in Georgia in the 70's. Got out in the garage and resolved the fuel supply issue. About to take it for a test drive when I notice a nasty puddle underneath the right front tire. It's brake fluid, and a lot of it. I get underneath, check the caliper, and it's void of any leaks. I check the rubber hose, no cracks, no leak. Check the inner fender and discover the plastic pressure switch on the brake line junction box is the culprit. Check the brake pedal and it's going to the floor with no resistance.

Moss catalog states no longer available. The switch on the dash never has worked. Have any of you put in a brass plug in place of the pressure switch? If so what size did you use? I'd love to take the car for a drive this weekend.

The thread for the switch should be the same as the smaller brake line fitting - 3/8"-24. Since it's not a pipe thread, if you get a plug for it, I would use one with a head that you can fit a copper sealing washer under. I wouldn't rely on just the threads to seal it, but a little teflon tape wouldn't hurt either. I short (3/8") cap screw should do just fine.
 
Thanks Gerard! You were right about the threads. Took three different attempts but I found something that's working well. Not a single drop so far. Bled the brakes, and cranked it for the first time since probably September. Since it's unseasonably warm here I took it for a test drive. Brakes seem to be doing well, engine's running good. May take it out for a longer run later on.
