A new one? Hmm, maybe. I replaced mine last year with a new tandem OEM MC purchased through LBC. Price wise it was competitive with a resleeve from Apple ($152 vs $125, if I recollect)
No problems untill it sat for several months over the winter. After a few days of use this spring a leak manifested itself from the front seal. It could be due to the fact that I use Valvoline Syntech synthetic brake fluid. I removed the cover, cleaned the leakage, pumped the pedal literally a hundred times over a few days and looked for new leaks. None then, and none yet.
I have read on another BBS that others have reported leaks with new MCs, and that the seal material in the OEM is not so hot. One mavin believes that the Beck-Arnley kit has good seal material. So, a resleeved MC from White Post or Apple, rebuilt with good seals might not be such a bad thing afterall. I will keep an eye on mine and try to exercise the pedal a few times over the winter storage months.
